"Beautiful Scaffolds"
New York, NY
Lane Lines

I was born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1945. After graduating from Paier College of Art, in New Haven, Connecticut in 1966, I moved to New York City where I have lived ever since. Here I pursued my interest in design and photography at Parsons, The New School and the International Center for Photography.

My background in design has given me visual tools that enable me to effectively reduce my photographic subjects to tightly composed studies of the urban environment. I seek to capture a subject's essence in graphic vignettes that, removed from their original context, are in themselves visually complete and meaningful.

My photographs have been exhibited at the Michael Ingbar Gallery and SohoPhoto Gallery, both in New York, as well as the Silvermine Gallery in Connecticut. My work is in the permanent collection of The New-York Historical Society and in private collections in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
